Happy Valentine’s Day!❤️
Been a while…but since I returned to work after the Christmas holidays, life has been happening! Man taya! So much has happened these past 6 weeks and I’m sure I will talk about them in consequent posts…but today is all about love.
This Valentine’s Day, permit me to celebrate a special kind of love that I have experienced over the years. Love that has stood the test of time and distance. Love that has been without prejudice, pretense and deceit. Love that has been kind, patient and true. Love that has not sought after its own and has not been boastful.
I would like to celebrate my friends and some very quality friendships that I have been totally blessed to have these past thirty something years of my life. They are my special valentine today, and I celebrate each and every one of them.

Now, let me properly start off with Kennedy. When I started my blog, he commented on my first post and said « I know one day I’ll feature on this blog… » Well, KK, you made it! Kennedy has always been instrumental whenever I had to start a new venture related to my Rosario businesses. When I needed a painter, he offered to paint! When I needed a storeroom to keep my shop fittings for a year because I was going through some transitions, he offered me space in his parents’ home! « Kennedy, I want to go to Techiman to do xyz….are you available to go with me please? » Him: « Gladly, Rosario… »…« I’m attending the wedding of Mark… » Him: « Can I come along? » (Mark is my cousin that he had met once)

On the day of the wedding, he came over to the shop, realized Roberto was dirty so decided to wash Roberto even though he was wearing a white suit! I could go on and on about Kennedy and how amazing he is as a friend. Friends who genuinely care about your business. Friends who show up when you need help. Friends who make you laugh. Friends who remain loyal even as the years go by. In this day and age, I wonder if we can still find such friends! So this is from me to you, KK….akpe kakakaka…Mawu nayra’w! (don’t come for me…I have a lot of Ewe uncles, aunties and sweethearts🤣 yet they don’t teach me the language) I really appreciate you, Ken! Thank you for being my friend! By the way, he’s single but has a plaster on his lips. If your love languages are acts of service and quality time, I’ve found you a fine gentleman !🤭

Augustus Yaw Mensah Tagoe. Aka Fabu, Aka Fabulous, Aka Tagor. Aka Onyinɛ num! I’ll keep it short, sweet and simple. Thank you for over 15 years of a beautiful friendship. Thank you for being that ear that’s always ready to listen.
Now before you come for me for only mentioning men, let me just say this- most of my friends are boys! Boys are less dramatic and do not hold grudges…fortunately for me, my girlfriends and I have hearts of men so I am blessed to have girlfriends who are also less dramatic (small drama is good for our mental health sometimes).
Reeny, PP, Selina, Schola, Nana Akosua, Akosua Adobea, Sylvia, Alyna, Tracy, Emma, Perpy, Naa, Lebs, Sharon, Rejoice, Naa Korkoi, Sesy, Solace, Ama, Ese, Hemzy, Dr. Jen, Awo, Maabena, Araba, Akweley, Maame Konadu, etc etc….thank you for being my friends… Happy Valentine’s Day to you all…you girls are my heartbeat ❤️

As for Selina, where do I even start from? Class 4 of Peace and Love Preparatory School? Or being in Juaben Serwaa house in Ghanass together? Or when you came all the way from Mpraeso to KNUST to attend my confirmation service in 2013? Or when I hosted you every fortnight in 2022, drove you around and helped you run your errands when you were planning your wedding? Or when you came all the way to Kumasi from Accra for my Charis shop opening ? Thank you for over 23 years of pure love and friendship that has stood the test of time! Oh we’ve been through things together! I remember when you made new friends in Ghanass and stopped talking to me…I forgive you🤣

That reminds me of how Akosua Akyea stole my bestfriend, Gifty from me. Akosua, I know you’ll see this so let me leave this here. I still have a score to settle with you. Unfortunately I’ve still not forgiven you in the deepest part of my heart. You also, Gifty…lol…. I don’t know what I did but my bestfriend got another bestfriend and I barely saw her. She was always with Akyea. They went to the dining hall together, prep together, did everything together. And I was almost ‘friend-less’ but for my lovely Jessica and Jennifer who were everybody’s friends but I managed🤣
A special shout out to friends like PP and Nana Akosua who are a safe space for me when I want to talk about silly things… I returned from Paris after my Christmas holidays to meet a parcel at my door. Extra dose of sweetness, Nana❤️

If you’re still waiting for some deep counsel or fine words on this blog, today is unfortunately not the day because being the last day at work before my half term break, I have sent my mind on holidays as I prepare to go and enjoy the most amazing one week break I have been looking forward to for weeks now! So it’s all jokes and plain language today. If you’re still in, keep reading…
My Spice it up ladies are some of the most amazing friends I have….there’s always laughter and cheer on our page! And gist! Lots of sweet gist! And they are real! Brutally honest ladies.
I am so proud of how far we’ve come, girls. I see a future filled with success stories for each and every one of us, baecations together and lots of beautiful memories! I really look forward to seeing them !❤️🤞🏽
Now, I could go on and on about my friends, but I just remembered I still have a couple more hours of work…if you’re single, appreciate your friends today. Call or send them a voice note or a text telling them how much they mean to you. Tell them how much you value their presence in your life. If you’re in a relationship, your partner isn’t the only person you should show love to. You have friends who hold you down when you need such support. Friends who love and care about and for you. Tell them how grateful you are for them.
Every Friday morning, I ask my tutees to write one thing they are grateful for that week in their diaries. After 2 minutes, each student reads out what they are grateful for. I hear them sometimes say « I’m grateful for person xyz for being my friend »…even 13 and 14 year olds know the relevance of friendships and how blessed they are because of them…we, as adults, have no reason to take the friendships we have for granted.
Show your friends love! ❤️ In word and in deed! Send them a card, a gift, hand written notes, surprise them with lovely gifts from Rosario Klassics …ehem ehem…hehe
But in all your doings, BE A GOOD FRIEND! Show up for your friends in both their good times and in their bad times.
“A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: And there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.”
Proverbs 18:24 KJV
“Friends come and friends go, but a true friend sticks by you like family.”
Proverbs 18:24 MSG
Happy Valentine’s Day to all my friends who have stuck with me over the years like glue! Je vous aime infiniment !!!❤️
Always with love…
Rosario.
